Eric Martin Kuehn, Age 48, passed away at his home in Indianapolis on May 23, 2019 after a courageous fight with colon cancer. Family, friends, co-workers, and medical staff can attest to his resolve and positive attitude throughout his difficult ordeal.
After graduating from Richland Northeast High School in Columbia, SC, Eric enlisted in the US Army Reserves and served proudly and honorably in the Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm. After his tour he returned home to Indiana. Known for his extraordinary breadth and depth of knowledge on topics from history, to science, to global politics, and more, he delighted in sharing the many things which fascinated him. In all conversations and interactions he enjoyed not only the opportunity for laughter but also the desire to have others share that laughter with him. Any who met Eric were touched by his kind heart and gentle soul.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Amy, and his sons Nicholas and Matthew; his mother, Dr. Christine Ebert; his younger brother, Captain David Kuehn (USN); and many loving cousins and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held in his remembrance on Wednesday, May 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Greenwood United Methodist Church 525 N. Madison Ave. Greenwood, IN. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until time of service.

Dear Amy, Nick, Matthew and Chris…
My deepest condolences for your loss. Even though we live far away, I’ve shared many a holiday meal with Eric over the past 9 years. He had such a positive outlook on life and was always quick with a fun story leading to some great conversations. Somehow, I never knew that he served our country, but it doesn’t surprise me as I’ve always known him to be so giving. I am proud to have been his brother-in-law for almost 9 years, and despite my grief at his passing I am comforted that his long and painful battle is over and he is at peace.

I will always miss you, Eric! You brought your family to visit your Dad and I ,
all of the years of our marriage. I came to love and
appreciate you for the loving father and son that you were. Your visits with your sons were so much fun and you brought them on their birthdays so we could celebrate with them too! You were there to help out your Dad when he was unable to get done what he wanted to accomplish. And, when he passed, you were very helpful to me too. We love you, Eric, and pray that you are finally at peace and have no more pain.
Betsy Clark says

We are so sorry for your loss. When this happens in our family we need more than human strength. God and his Son can provide what we need. Please review these scriptures : John 5:28-29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Sharon Franklin says
Those we Love remain with us
For love itself lives on
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved one`s gone.
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart,
Far as long as there is memory,
They`ll live on in the heart.
To the family of Eric, I`m praying for peace , strength and comfort and may God keep his loving arms around you all.
Eric I will miss you dearly. With Love , Sharon Franklin (co-worker)
